The journey of revenue growth begins with an understanding of who you are targetting. What is your "ideal customer profile" - which segments, state of business, location etc. There are many excellent sources of lists of business contacts available in Australasia and so if the right request for information is provided at the outset, a comprehensive list can usually be provided within 24 -48 hours or even within a few hours in some instances. There may be certain information that is not available eg email addresses and so a Marketing Journey of Discovery will be required to collect important contact and profiling data on a prospect. The client pays for single use of a list eg a Direct Mailer to the address provided or can pay for multiple use but the goal will be to build up your own database of information, especially email addresses with consent to communicate via this channel.
Generally a request is best fulfilled by bringing together information from multiple list sources, merging the information and ensuring no duplication, data integrity etc. Once a prospect list is compiled it then needs to be checked against existing
client databases to ensure that duplication of activity does not happen. Lists then need to be managed and updated on an ongoing basis.
